I enjoy going to a local gym on Mondays for a weight lifting class.  It is something I look forward to every week and am liking the results of my arms not flapping as wildly in the wind as they used to.  :o
This class is so relaxing and calming for me most of the time.  But there is a circumstance that changes that on occasion though.  It is when two ladies come at the same time who happen to be elementary teachers.  They sit in the back and talk and gossip, sometimes so loud the rest of us can't hear the music.  They also speak very negatively about the children and their jobs.
We are currently living in a school district where people are pulling their children out to home school or to send them over the mountain to different schools because of situations here in our town and schools.  This Monday one of the teachers was complaining about the lack of kindergarteners this upcoming year and that they were going to lose teachers.  Another lady said, looking at me, "well don't you have a kindergartener coming up this year?"  "Um, (clear throat) yes, I have a four and a half yr. old."  Now the whole class is staring at me.  (I hate these situations)  "But......I home school."  Silence.
Response from teacher:   "  It is people like you, that make my degree a waste."

I did not say anything.  I wanted to.  But am thankful that my children are with caring adults that don't care about the paycheck, don't complain about how awful it is to be with them day in and day out, and we can stop anytime and enjoy the sunshine, laugh a little, make cookies, and don"t have to worry if the teacher is having a good or bad day.
