Last week we left for a much needed getaway. We went to Puget Sound to visit my husband's mom and her husband. They work and live at a church camp right on the beach.
We love to just walk the beach and look for treasures in the sand without having to worry about anything. Phones don't work well there because it is so secluded and it is a good thirty minute drive to the closest town.
The first night we opened the window above our heads and fell asleep to the sound of waves and rain hitting the roof. I slept thirteen hours.
By the end of the week we were all caught up on sleep, my hair felt soft from the moisture, my skin cleared up, and John and I discovered we were still friends.
Sometimes we all need that friend time to be rekindled here and there. It is worth it to take a few days off and look for hidden treasures with your spouse. You may find each other.
