As some of you know, I love to read.
I will read just about anything and I read fast.
One of my little obsessions is Christian thrillers, mostly penned by Ted Dekker.
So yesterday morning I opened up his book "Adam". When I put it down last night at 11:30 I was a bit rattled. His book is about spiritual warfare and that we are fighting a much bigger battle than we can ever know.
It was a little hard to fall asleep because I just wanted to pray for everyone and everything. I think I probably fell asleep in the middle of a prayer.
It is essential, to pray for ourselves and others. There is battle raging for our souls and the souls of our children. If you don't believe me, take a look at the fall season premier line ups on any t.v. channel. Listen to the words to the music. Listen to people talk when they don't think you are listening. Look around, walk a mall, read the news.
Our children are going to need deep wisdom and discernment as they grow.
John 10:10
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
I am come that they might have life....."
The thief would like nothing more than for you to ignore this post, ignore the Bible verse for sure, and go about your daily life as usual. He would love that you would not pray for others, seek wisdom, and just allow him to keep stealing your joy, your time, your thought life, and soon destroy the good things that you hold dear.
If you don't believe me.....just read the divorce announcements in your local paper. Talk to a teacher and ask if there are any lost souls in his/her class.
We live in a time that we have to be intensely focused. There are a lot of things spinning around us trying to steal that focus.
