Smiling on Monday

Well, my fresh start Monday was hard.  Yes, just as difficult as other Mondays where we are running from thing to thing, the baby doesn't get a nap, homework not quite done, house exploding, laundry starting to pile anew for the week, and trying to fit in a work out.
But something was different.
I made sure I focused on the Lord right away in the morning, read a chapter from "The Secret to True Happiness," by Joyce Meyer and then challenged myself to try to smile a lot.
As we were buzzing around Costco with my smile on; the girls antics didn't seem to bug me near as much.
In fact they all broke out into a joyful round of Oh Come all Ye Faithful right there in the coffee isle.  They were skipping and singing and I felt my old self tense up, my heart started to go faster, and I forced myself to smile and try to enjoy the moment.
I saw an older couple smile and say "aren't those kids so happy?"
Yes, I thought, they are.

  2. Ha, ha, any more socialization and I would go bonkers! We are out of the house every day but one this week, "socializing" and doing sports, bible clubs, piano, and science class with other home schoolers. What am I thinking? :)
