Love.
...Perhaps Jesus's main theme during his life.
In fact, he loved so much and so well it got him into trouble numerous times and then finally executed.
He loved the old, the young, the handicapped, rich, poor, educated, the soldiers, the promiscuous woman, the widows, the orphans, the elite, the tax collectors...all of them. He gave all the opportunity to experience his love, his message, and then rise to or say no to the challenge.
One of the challenges I have set up for myself is to love better.
I am learning rather quickly that this is hard.
I really like having my own way, doing my own thing, and when the life I am leading is interrupted by others and their needs I tend to get grumpy.
When My child is excited about something and calls me to look, I usually sigh and say just a minute. ....Too busy typing out my blog or something so very important, you know?
When my husband asked me to sit by him on the couch last night, I walked by, I really needed a drink of water and a snack first.
Selfish.
Joy, peace, kindness, love is just not natural for most of us.
That's why I have to cling hard to the Lord.
He has shown through His life on earth so many wonderful examples to follow. His Word is full of hope and inspiration.
Matthew 5: 44-48 really hits it home about Love and how we approach it. Jesus challenges us to look a little differently at the issue and to radically change the way we look at others.
I challenge you to read it today and to pray that God would reveal how you can change direction in your life to be more loving, more Christ minded.
