With all of the crazy in politics going on and stories of people running Walmarts for food; I thought I would share one thought.
Self sufficiency is gold.
It is so important to sit down and think clearly about our lives, our basic needs and what we can do about them.
One book I found fun and informative is " The Big Book of Country Living."  It is a great resource for gardening, taking care of animals, recipes, and even some fun stories about people surviving on next to nothing and coming out on top.
This year we planted a little garden that we ate out of this fall and most of the summer.  We have onions drying in the pantry and a few jars of applesauce canned up.  The chickens are out back and I am thinking of getting some indoor herbs and lettuces going.  It's not much but it's something and it's a start.
What do  you do to help save money or become more self sustained?
