Fall is here

The air is brisk,
the sun rays warm.
It is fall,
and I am torn.
No more pool time and water fights.
No more campfire's in the summer nights.
Tank tops and shorts are now all gone.
A long sleeve shirt and pants I will don.
But this is the time of year I love.
When the colored leaves rain down from above.
The smell of earth and the crunch beneath my feet.
Cookies baking in the air so sweet.
Can you smell it?  Fall is here.
And the cleansing white of winter is near.

  1. No I don't feel it coming, and I'll tell you why; The sun still beats down, the temperature stays high.
I miss snuggling under blankets on cold, chilly days, but love Florida so much for it's many different ways.
No snow to shovel, you can swim year around,
pile up all the leaves into a ginormous mound.
    Take a deep breath, and say "1, 2, 3"
and dive into the pile; it fills you with glee.
So though I miss winter, and all of it's ways,
I still love Florida, it's a wonderful place.

    Miss you!
