Time to owe up

I have started a new job and have been at it for a couple of weeks.  It pretty much entails opening up a gym at 4:45 a.m. and working the front desk along with some cleaning and laundry.  It's a great shift because I am gone while everyone is in bed and am back before John leaves for work in the morning.
What gave me this crazy idea you say?
Well, we've been listening to Dave Ramsey, some of you may have heard of him. :)
So, after feeling like what he says makes a lot of sense and us being majorly tired of school loans, we decided that if I took this little part time gig we can put that entire paycheck to principal on the loans.  Did you know that since January we payed 1400.00 toward interest and only 200.00 ish toward the actual loan?!  That made me so mad I could kick something.  It's ridiculous!  So we are going to take every extra penny and get rid of that nasty thing.
I believe if we can concentrate on this while honoring the Lord, He will bless us down the road.
Romans 13:8 says
"Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law."

It is hard the way our world is set up to not buy things on credit or to just grab a loan.  But, there is sound and good advise here, and isn't it easier to be more loving when our lives are simplified?  It feels good to not owe anything to anyone and I can focus my energy on others instead of my debt, myself, and my woes.
If you would like to learn more about Mr. Ramsey and getting rid of debt he has a great website.  Just google Dave Ramsey and it will pop up!
