In a nearby town from us there is some hub bub about trying to build a new elementary school for the growing number of kindergartners.
This proposal for a new school is close to 13 million dollars in a town that is losing jobs left and right, houses going into foreclosure and so forth.  They want to tax the remaining townspeople to build this school.
At the very bottom of the article, it mentioned very briefly and with no elaboration that some of these kids are coming into this town because the parents do not want to send them to the schools in their own towns or areas.  Hmm.
So punish those living there with the rising cost and let the out of towners off?  It doesn't seem quite right does it?
I don't know what the answer is, particularly because I think the problem is much deeper than this one issue.  All I know is that it is not right.  It makes me sad that a community has to go through this and possibly come out looking like the bad guys if they choose to vote no against the new school.
