It's good to try something different.
Today I drove over an hour to tour an apiary with some of my friends and their chillins'.  Even though the tour was short because the apiary was having a "bee problem", and my daughter got stung, we had fun. 
It got us out of the house, we learned something new, and gasp! they all got along too!
In fact it was kind of a bummer to have to come home after our picnic lunch in the park with our friends.
I know the other day I said "try a schedule"  I am going to add to that and say also to try switching it up once in awhile.
Field trips and outings were some of my most favorite moments of childhood, it could be your kids' too.
