Today we unofficially, officially started school.
I know, that probably didn't make any sense but let me explain.
Without our set schedules and "knowing" what's next, we have been just kind of running on auto. This worked for awhile but lately it's been bad.
The children and I have gotten lazy, lost and confused on what to do with ourselves. Our chores are lacking in efficiency, play time has turned into whining and fighting, mom is yelling more and suggesting eating out more, blah blah and so it goes.
So today I started pulling out handwriting worksheets, our new health book and alphabet cards. And guess what? It's working! Besides the toddlers protests everyone is having a much better day. I even have the dishes done.
Scheduling is one of those things that I aspire to, read books on, think is a great idea, and yet rarely use. This year, for the sanity of our family unit, I have to come up with some kind of schedule that works. After the kids go to bed tonight I am going to sit down with some of those great books and see if I can come up with a rough draft. Today was so wonderful, I want to keep it going.
If you need more peace in your home or feel like you are spinning your wheels...try a schedule.
And don't forget to schedule some quiet time with the Lord, for He will calm your weary soul, and give you great rejuvenation.
I have over 1000 posts in my reader as I haven't been keeping up with my own blogging let alone reading the thoughts of others! So I just noticed that I wrote a post today strikingly similar to this one, lol. Know that you're definitely not alone...my family is really looking forward to starting back up as well!
